Royal's 32nd Anniversary Jam: Battle of the Bands

MECHANICS
I. ELIGIBILITY
- Open to all amateur bands not signed under any record label.
- Bands must have 3 to 8 members, all at least 18 years old.
- No registration fee required.
- All music genres are welcome (rock, pop, metal, folk, etc.), but lyrics must be clean and family-appropriate. Entries with profanity, explicit language, or discriminatory content will be disqualified.
II. REGISTRATION
- Deadline: November 6, 2025, 6:00 p.m.
- Download and accomplish the registration form and email it to marketing@royalstores.com.ph with the following:
- Band name
- High-resolution logo (PNG/JPEG, if available)
- Short band bio (50 to 100 words)
- Names of all members/performers
- Copy of a valid ID per member
- Sample performance video (1 song only, medleys not allowed)
- Lyric sheet of the same song
- Bands may submit one (1) original or cover song, which must be the same piece performed during the event.
- Submission does not guarantee acceptance; entries will be screened.
- Use of offensive, vulgar, profane, or inappropriate content in live performance will result in disqualification.
III. SCREENING AND SELECTION
- The video submitted must match the final performance.
- Songs must be respectful and suitable for all audiences.
- Confirmed finalists will be notified on November 7, 2025, via email and SMS.
IV. PRE-EVENT GUIDELINES
- Sound check will be held on the event day; each band will be given a specific schedule.
- Failure to appear at the assigned call time may result in forfeiture of the sound check slot.
- Bands who opt to skip the sound check must inform the organizer in advance. The organizer will not be held liable for any technical issues during the live performance, which may lead to lower scores from the judges.
- The organizer will provide the following basic equipment:
- 1 pc Roland KC990 keyboard amp
- 1 pc Ampeg SVT Pro bass amp
- 2 pcs Vox AC30 guitar amp
- 2 pcs Fender Twin Reverb guitar amp
- 1 set Pearl drum kit
- 4 RF wireless microphones
- Bands must bring their own instruments or any special gear not listed above.
- Bands must reply to their finalist confirmation email by November 8, 2025, 3:00 p.m. to confirm their participation and inform organizers of any additional equipment they will bring.
V. PERFORMANCE RULES
- Setup and line check are limited to a maximum of five (5) minutes.
- Each band must perform one (1) song only, with a maximum duration of five (5) minutes.
- Performing under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate disqualification.
- The use of props, pyrotechnics, or hazardous materials during the performance is not allowed.
- Attire must be clean, modest, and appropriate for the performance. Clothing that is revealing, offensive, or distracting is not permitted.
- All bands must arrive at the designated holding area by their assigned call time.
- Failure to appear during the band’s scheduled performance time will result in automatic disqualification.
- Bands must strictly follow the event schedule and be ready when called.
VI. JUDGING CRITERIA

Panel of Judges
- One (1) Royal Duty Free Shops representative
- One (1) SBMA representative
- One (1) guest artist or the event’s Technical Director
VII. SCORING AND DELIBERATION
- Judges’ scores will be averaged to determine each band’s final score.
- In case of a tie, the judges will deliberate to determine the final ranking.
VIII. AWARDS AND PRIZES

IX. GENERAL RULES AND CONDUCT
- Any form of cheating, sabotage, or disrespect toward event staff, judges, or fellow participants will result in immediate disqualification.
- Judges’ decisions are final and irrevocable.
